Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets are set to face off against the Atlas Cubs of Morocco in the ongoing 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. The highly-anticipated Group B fixture is scheduled to kick off at 5 pm Nigerian time, with both teams looking to secure a spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The Golden Eaglets, two-time champions of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, are coming into this game on the back of a 1-0 victory over Zambia in their opening fixture. Nduka Ugbade’s side will be looking to build on that success and secure another win to guarantee their place in the last eight of the tournament.

On the other hand, the Atlas Cubs of Morocco had a strong start to their campaign, defeating South Africa 2-0 in their first game. Said Chiba’s young lads showed their title credentials in that victory and will definitely be a hard nut to crack for the Golden Eaglets.

This will be the first meeting between Nigeria and Morocco at the U-17 level, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the fixture. With both teams keen to secure a place in the quarter-finals as early as possible, the game promises to be an interesting battle between two talented sides.

A win for Nigeria against the North Africans will guarantee their spot in the quarter-finals and make their final group game against South Africa inconsequential. The Moroccans, however, will also be eager to secure a place in the last eight and will be fighting hard to make that happen.

The Golden Eaglets have a rich history in the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, having won the tournament a record five times, including back-to-back victories in 2013 and 2015. They will be hoping to add to their trophy cabinet this year and make a statement against a tough Moroccan side.

Nigeria will be relying on the likes of star forward Ahmed Musa, who scored the decisive goal in their victory over Zambia, to lead the charge against the Atlas Cubs. Meanwhile, Morocco will be looking to their impressive defensive record, having kept a clean sheet in their opening fixture, to shut down Nigeria’s attack.
