Privacy Policy

Effective and last reviewed: 24 September 2026

This notice explains how Wowplus.net (“Wowplus”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you read the site, leave a comment, contact us, subscribe to Wowplus Weekly or interact with our editorial and advertising services. It is a transparency notice, not a request for blanket consent.

1. Who is responsible and how to contact us

Wowplus is the controller for the processing described here unless another notice says otherwise. Privacy requests can be sent to wowplus.net@gmail.com. Advertising and partnership enquiries use epopcover@gmail.com. Do not send passwords, verification codes or identity documents unless we give you a secure, specific route.

2. Information we handle

  • Site and security data: requested pages, timestamps, IP address, browser/device information, referrer and security events recorded by WordPress, our host, cache or abuse controls.
  • Comments: the name, optional private email address and comment you submit, plus WordPress moderation and security metadata. A comment email is not published. Guest website URLs are not accepted.
  • Newsletter: the email address you submit, a protected email fingerprint, confirmation and unsubscribe status, delivery history and bounded anti-abuse records. Subscription uses double opt-in and every edition includes unsubscribe controls.
  • Contact: your name, email address and message when you choose to contact us.
  • Preferences: the light or dark theme choice stored in the wpg_theme_mode cookie, plus necessary WordPress, security and consent choices.
  • Measurement and advertising: page and campaign information, cookie/device identifiers and ad interactions only when the relevant feature is enabled and the required notice, consent or opt-out rule permits it.

3. Why we use information

We use the minimum information needed to publish and secure the site, display reader preferences, moderate discussion, answer messages, deliver a confirmed newsletter subscription, understand site performance, prevent abuse, comply with law and fund publishing through approved advertising. Depending on the activity and applicable law, we rely on consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in secure publishing and audience measurement, or a legal obligation. We do not use a newsletter subscription as consent for unrelated marketing.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Necessary cookies support security, WordPress functions, reader choices and requested features. Non-essential analytics or advertising storage must remain blocked until the required regional choice has been recorded. Where applicable, you can refuse or withdraw that choice without losing access to editorial content. Wowplus does not sell contact details or its newsletter list. Advertising or analytics providers may receive online identifiers when their services are enabled; we apply applicable sale, sharing, consent, opt-out and preference-signal duties to that activity.

5. Comments and public information

Your displayed name and approved comment become public. Do not include contact details, private facts, links, account numbers or other sensitive information in a comment. We may reject, moderate or remove comments under the comment policy and Terms of Use. Search engines and other readers may copy public comments before removal.

6. Providers and disclosures

Information may be processed by authorised Wowplus staff and providers needed for hosting, content delivery, email, security, spam prevention, analytics or advertising. We may disclose information when law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or during a genuine business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. Provider access is limited to the service purpose and should be governed by appropriate data-processing terms.

7. International processing

Some providers may process information outside your country. Where a transfer rule applies, we use the provider’s approved contractual or legal transfer mechanism and assess the service and location before activation.

8. Retention

Newsletter verification links expire after 24 hours. A confirmed subscription is kept until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed, with a limited suppression or delivery record retained when needed to honour your choice and protect the service. Comments remain while published or needed for moderation and legal records. Contact messages, security logs, analytics and advertising records are kept only for their documented operational, dispute, security or legal period. We review these periods and delete or anonymise information that is no longer needed.

9. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, unsubscribe, or complain to the relevant data-protection authority. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where law or a legal claim requires it. Email wowplus.net@gmail.com with the right you want to exercise and the email or comment concerned.

10. Children

Wowplus is a general-audience news and entertainment publication and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. Do not submit a child’s personal information through comments, contact or newsletter forms. Contact us if you believe this has happened.

11. Security and incidents

We use access controls, encrypted transport, protected credentials, updates, backups, rate limits and bounded administrative access appropriate to the service. No internet service can promise absolute security. We assess suspected incidents and notify affected people or regulators when applicable law requires it.

12. Changes

We update this notice when data flows, providers or legal requirements materially change. The review date above identifies the current version. A material new use receives an appropriate notice or choice before it begins.
