Rodgers hails ‘brilliant’ Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho earned plaudits from Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers despite the Foxes going down to a 1-0 defeat against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.

Iheanacho has featured regularly for the former Premier League champions recently after his struggles earlier in the campaign.

The 26-year-old has two goals and three assists in his last six outings for Leicester City.

The forward was unlucky not to add to the tally against Southampton after coming close to scoring twice.

“He’s been brilliant for us of late. He’s been the one who looks like the threat. He kept fighting and kept working,” Rodgers was quoted by the Leicester Mercury.

“He had two really good headers but couldn’t make the finish.”
