The Action Alliance (AA) has reelected Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as its national chairman at its elective convention held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The election was witnessed by representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and observed by security agencies.

Omoaje, who previously served as the party’s national chairman, was elected again after a transparent and free process that chose option A4 as a means of electing its leaders to show transparency. Other elected officials include Alhaji Ibrahim Yisah as Deputy National Chairman, Prince (Dr) Awolola Awofala as National Financial Secretary, comrade Olu Omotosho as National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeyemo as National Youth Leader, Barr. Abiodun Rufai as National Legal Adviser, and Mrs Aisha Abdulahi as National Women Leader.

In his acceptance speech, Omoaje promised to provide efficient leadership and take the party to the promised land. He assured Nigerians that the party would continue to serve them and provide effective leadership that would take Nigeria to its promised land.

The re-election of Omoaje has been met with mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some have expressed satisfaction with his previous leadership and believe that he is capable of leading the party to greater heights, others have criticized the party’s decision to re-elect him, citing his previous tenure’s shortcomings.

Omoaje’s first tenure as the party’s national chairman was marked by several controversies, including allegations of financial mismanagement and lack of internal democracy. Some party members have expressed concerns that these issues could resurface if Omoaje does not address them adequately.

However, Omoaje has promised to learn from his previous mistakes and ensure that the party operates transparently and democratically. He has also vowed to work with other elected officials to ensure that the party remains united and focused on its goals.

The Action Alliance is a relatively new political party in Nigeria, founded in 2005. Since its inception, the party has been focused on promoting democracy, good governance, and the rule of law in Nigeria. The party has participated in several elections in Nigeria, including the 2019 presidential elections, where it fielded its candidate, Mr. Omoyele Sowore.

The re-election of Omoaje as the party’s national chairman is expected to strengthen the party’s position in Nigerian politics and increase its chances of winning future elections. However, the party will need to address the concerns of its members and Nigerians to gain their trust and support.
