Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe has taken aim at Newcastle United following their UEFA Champions League 1-1 draw on Tuesday night in Paris.

The PSG captain expressed his frustration with the Premier League side, insisting that they “have nothing” and that his team should have emerged victorious from the match.

Despite falling behind to an Alexander Isak goal in the first half, PSG dominated the game, registering an impressive thirty-one efforts on goal. In contrast, Newcastle United failed to produce a single shot on target after Isak’s opener in the 24th minute.

The match took a dramatic turn in injury time when Tino Livramento was penalized for a handball, allowing Mbappe to equalize from the penalty spot.

In his post-match interview, Mbappe did not hold back in his criticism of Newcastle’s performance.

“It is frustrating because we dominated this team from start to finish,” Mbappe said. “They have nothing. We knew it was their game to have nothing but we had to finish our chances better.”

The French forward went on to emphasize the need for greater efficiency in front of goal, acknowledging that PSG had squandered too many opportunities.

“We have too many chances for a Champions League match. It’s not the structure or the organization, it’s us the players. We need to be much more diligent in front of goal,” he added.

Despite Mbappe’s frustration, the draw leaves PSG in a strong position in Group A of the Champions League, with the Parisian club currently sitting at the top of the table.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, will be relieved to have secured a point after a challenging evening at the Parc des Princes.

The result is sure to reignite the debate surrounding the Premier League’s ability to compete with Europe’s elite clubs, with Newcastle’s defensive approach drawing criticism from some quarters.

For PSG, the focus will now turn to their upcoming fixtures, as they look to build on their strong start to the Champions League campaign.
