Romance, drama, and scandal are always on the menu at SUR, and the latest incident involving Vanderpump Rules stars Raquel Leviss, Peter Madrigal, and Tom Sandoval has left fans reeling. Leviss and Madrigal went on a few dates in early 2022, but their romance took a new turn after it was revealed that Leviss had an affair with Sandoval.
Leviss, a former pageant queen, and Madrigal, the manager of SUR, had a fun time during their first date, according to Leviss, who appeared on Katie Maloney’s “You’re Gonna Love Me” podcast in April 2022. Leviss said that she accepted Madrigal’s invitation to go out for drinks to get back into the dating world after her split with ex-fiancé James Kennedy. However, the duo kept things casual after that first date, with Leviss revealing to Us Weekly in July 2022 that they had only been on “a few dates.”
Their romance seemingly ended in July 2022, as documented during an episode of Pump Rules that aired in February 2023. Leviss told Madrigal that she wasn’t ready for anything serious, and their boss, Lisa Vanderpump, warned Madrigal about the dangers of dating someone who works for him.

However, the story didn’t end there. In March 2023, Us Weekly confirmed that Sandoval had split from his longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix after she discovered he was having an affair with Leviss. Two days before the news broke, Leviss referred to Madrigal as a “starting pony” during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where she explained that he had helped her get back into the dating world.
Madrigal, who had booked his own interview that same week, wasn’t happy about Leviss’s remarks. During an interview on the “Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend” podcast, Madrigal said, “I’m nobody’s starter pony. Go f–k yourself. I always keep an even keel, but my God. Who the hell do you think you are? Who the f–k do you think you are?”
As more details about the timeline of Sandoval and Leviss’s affair emerged, Madrigal didn’t hold back sharing his thoughts. In April 2023, he said he felt like the duo had used him as a “scapegoat” to hide their growing feelings for each other. According to Madrigal, Sandoval had sent him a text in January 2023 that made him think the TomTom co-owner was seeing Leviss as early as July 2022.

“He hasn’t texted me in six months,” Madrigal recalled during an interview on Kristen Doute’s “Sex, Love, and What Matters” podcast. “And then he texts me and says, and I quote, ‘Dude, exclamation point. Just watched the first episode LOL, an exclamation point. Did you bang Raquel the night after SUR, exclamation point, question mark, crying laughing face.'”
Madrigal believes that Sandoval wanted to discover the full extent of what happened between him and Leviss because their affair had already begun when Leviss agreed to go out with Madrigal. “She was already having sex with Tom,” Madrigal alleged. “And that text message from him proves it.”
