APC & PDP Clash In Imo

Owerri Zone Development Union, OZDU, a sociopolitical group in Owerri zone, has claimed that Imo PDP Secretary Nze Ray Emeana is planning to defect to the ruling APC.

According to the OZDU’s Publicity Secretary, Stanley Onyechere, who stated this on Sunday in Owerri, Imo State, there is an ongoing internal battle in the PDP, and Ray Emeana is among those who want to leave the party.

According to the group, Emeana claims that the Ihedioha administration mistreated him and that, since his ouster, the former Governor has used him as an attack dog against Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Similarly, a high-ranking source within the PDP told our correspondent that, in addition to Emeana, other bigwigs are planning to leave due to a major conflict of interest.

“The truth is that there is too much bad blood in the Imo PDP right now, and it is all because of 2023, particularly in the Owerri zone,” the source said.

“The former governor (Ihedioha) wants to return, which is causing a lot of strife. Stakeholders such as Nze Ray Emeana, who has been outspoken about the importance of an open and fair competition, have been marginalized. So don’t be surprised if you see people like him in the APC tomorrow. Politics is all about pursuing one’s own interests.

When asked if such an exit was imminent, he replied, “Well, they have been meeting.” However, I believe that someone like Ray Emeana will want to receive certain assurances before officially defecting. “It all depends on what compromise they reach and how quickly they reach it,” he explained.

Meanwhile, members of the APC caretaker committee refused to confirm or deny whether Nze Ray Emeana was expected to join the party.

However, a text message from a CampHope member who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press simply stated: “Not only Ray Emeana, please.” The talks are still going on.”

In response to the allegations, the PDP scribe denied the group’s claim, saying that a party that has been unable to appoint Commissioners for the past six months has nothing to offer the people of lmo and myself.

He stated, “I will leave politics any day I leave the PDP, and I will remain a strong member of the state’s leading opposition party, the PDP.” To be clear, no member of the failed APC administration had approached me. They can’t because they know I’m not going to join them.” I’m a happy person, unlike Femi Fani-Kayode.

“Their allegations demonstrate the level of dissatisfaction in the APC chapter in Imo State.

The APC believed that if they took former PDP publicity secretary Ogubundu Nwadike, the PDP would be finished, but they are now frustrated to learn that our party is still very strong and formidable in the state.

He went on to say that the Imo PDP is not in crisis.

Let me also clarify that I am not Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha’s attacking dog; Ihedioha is an outstanding individual who can speak for himself. I only target those who are working hard to demolish what Imo stands for.

“In addition, Emeka Ihedioha’s 12 years as a federal legislator and 7 months as Governor of Imo State speak for themselves. Remember, Ihedioha has not even declared for the Imo gubernatorial seat.”

Emeana went on to say that if the APC is sincere, there must be fairness, equity, and justice in Imo State. They should join the campaign for an Owerri zone governor.
