Maureen Esisi Shuts Down Rumors of Lesbianism, Bisexuality

Maureen Esisi, known as the former wife of popular Nollywood actor Blossom Chukwujekwu, has openly addressed and firmly dismissed ongoing rumors about her sexuality. The controversy first erupted after Esisi posted a video last month showing her sharing a friendly kiss with another woman at a club, which quickly sparked a wave of speculation on social media.

In response to the buzz, fueled by a popular gossip blogger, Esisi took to Instagram to clarify her stance, stating unequivocally, “I’m not lesbian, and not even bisexual.” She expressed frustration with the rumors, challenging anyone to present proof of these claims, which she insisted was simply nonexistent.

The 37-year-old entrepreneur didn’t stop there. She also tackled baseless rumors that suggested she might have contracted sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) through supposed anal sexual encounters. She called these allegations “absurd” and “baseless,” emphasizing that such claims have no foundation in reality.

“I am only attracted to men,” Esisi stated clearly, refuting any idea that she might be bisexual. She went on to dismiss the rumors as little more than a “Nollywood story,” likening the gossip to the sensational plots often seen in Nigerian movies.

Esisi further addressed the circulating story, humorously inviting anyone who might have evidence of her supposed “secret” life to come forward. “Now it’s that I’m a lesbian, that two women are fighting over me, and the men around me are just cover-ups? And that I’m a ‘renowned plate licker’? I’d really love to see that video. Please, if anyone has a video of me stark naked in bed with a woman, go ahead and post it online. I want to see something.”

Esisi also took a moment to clarify the STD rumors, noting with sarcasm that one would typically have to engage in sexual activity to contract a sexually transmitted disease. “I was treating STDs on a regular? Last I checked, don’t you actually have to have sex with someone to get a ‘sexually’ transmitted disease? Isn’t that why it’s called that in the first place?”

Her comments continued as she reiterated her respect for others’ personal preferences and identities, emphasizing, “I’m not lesbian, I’m not even bisexual, and I have no issues with people who are.”

Esisi and Blossom Chukwujekwu tied the knot in 2015, but the marriage ended in 2019. Since then, Esisi has continued to build her brand and maintain a social media presence, often addressing her followers directly on various topics. This latest clarification appears to be an attempt to put to rest the persistent rumors and set the record straight.
