Idris Kutigi: Buhari approves National Cemetery as final burial place for ex-CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the National Cemetery, Abuja, as the final resting place of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Idris Legbo Kutigi.

Kutugi died on Sunday in a London Hospital at 78.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement, said President Buhari again paid tribute to late Kutigi, hailing his contributions to the evolution of the country’s jurisprudence.

The President said the nation would not forget the hard work and dedication of the eminent jurist.

A Federal Government’s delegation, led by his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, were at the funeral prayer at the National Mosque, Abuja, and thereafter, the burial at the National Cemetery.

Other members of the Presidential delegation were the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Bello and the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

The Federal Government delegation had also paid a condolence visit to the widows and other family members of Justice Kutigi at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
