In a shocking move, Australian actor Daniel Lissing bid farewell to his iconic role as Jack Thornton in Hallmark’s hit drama ‘When Calls the Heart’ after five seasons. The news sent shockwaves through the show’s devoted fan base, leaving many wondering what prompted the talented actor to walk away from the role of a lifetime.

While Lissing remained tight-lipped about his motivations, his co-star Lori Loughlin shed some light on the situation during a Facebook Live Q&A session. According to Loughlin, Lissing’s decision to leave the show was a result of his contract expiring, giving him the opportunity to renegotiate or move on. “We are actors, and actors have contracts, and sometimes contracts expire, and you have a choice to make,” Loughlin explained. “You either renegotiate or you don’t, and Dan has chosen to move on. We respect that. No judgment, we love him, we wish him well, he’s still part of the Hallmark family.”

Despite Loughlin’s insight, Lissing himself remained mum on the subject, only praising the role as “the honor of his career.” However, in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lissing opened up about his decision, revealing that he has no regrets about leaving the show behind.

In a surprising twist, Lissing credits his departure from ‘When Calls the Heart’ with finding love and personal fulfillment. “It’s funny the way the world works. If I had stayed on the show, and been there during season 6 and shot and all that kind of stuff, then I wouldn’t have met [my fiancée] Nadia, you know?” Lissing shared. “And I wouldn’t be getting married and I wouldn’t be at this place in my life where I feel really in line with what I’m meant to be doing personally and professionally, so no regrets at all.”

Lissing’s candid admission offers a rare glimpse into the personal life of a celebrity, highlighting the importance of prioritizing one’s well-being and happiness. While his departure from ‘When Calls the Heart’ was met with disappointment from fans, it’s clear that Lissing’s decision was driven by a desire to focus on his personal life and pursue new opportunities.
