Taylor Cole’s relationship with Hallmark was not always a match made in heaven. In a candid interview, she confessed that prior to her involvement with the network, she wasn’t a fan of their films. “When I got my first offer as a Hallmark lead, I didn’t know much about Hallmark and I hadn’t seen any of the movies,” Cole shared. However, once she stepped onto the set, everything changed. “As soon as I made the first one, I realized what an amazing group of people are involved with Hallmark and what a great fan base Hallmark has,” she reflected.

This newfound appreciation for Hallmark’s magic allowed Cole to connect with viewers in a meaningful way. Yet, beneath the surface of her on-screen persona, she has faced her share of heartache.

A Heartbreaking Loss

In December 2024, Taylor Cole took to Instagram to share a deeply personal loss that struck her during the filming of her Hallmark movie, “A Reason For The Season.” Her best friend, Nicole, tragically succumbed to breast cancer, leaving Cole devastated. “Ah, you are so sweet, thank you for your love. I lost my best friend to cancer this year while shooting ‘A Reason For The Season,'” she wrote in response to a follower’s comment.

The year was particularly challenging for Cole, not only because of the loss of her dear friend but also due to her own struggles with fertility. “Coupled with too many failed attempts trying to get pregnant made it a tough year. Thank you for the love. It will get better,” she added, demonstrating her strength and determination to persevere through difficult times.

Despite the overwhelming grief, Cole found a way to honor Nicole’s memory. She almost canceled a trip that was meant for the two of them, fearing it would be too painful without her friend. Ultimately, she decided to go, and the experience became a healing journey. “Spending alone time with her beautiful spirit by the ocean, reading on the beaches, witnessing this wonderful community, energy, and history was cathartic and healing,” Cole shared. Her poignant words reflect a deep connection to her friend, vowing to keep Nicole’s spirit alive in her heart.

Supporting a Brave Friend

The bond between Taylor Cole and Nicole was forged through years of shared experiences, including the challenging journey of battling cancer. Cole stood by Nicole’s side during her first fight against breast cancer, which she bravely overcame. However, in August 2023, Cole received the devastating news that Nicole’s cancer had returned, this time at stage IV. “My best friend in Tahoe @nikole17 received the most devastating news a cancer survivor can receive. It’s back,” Cole expressed on Instagram. The cancer had metastasized to multiple parts of Nicole’s body, and Cole took the initiative to raise funds for her friend’s treatment through a Go Fund Me campaign.

As the years progressed, Cole continued to celebrate the memories of their time together. She shared a bittersweet tribute to Nicole, highlighting their adventures during her final year. From getting matching tattoos to attending music festivals, Cole reminisced about the joy they shared. “This time last year, we were on a trip together doing some of your favorite things,” she wrote, emphasizing the deep connection they had and the impact Nicole had on her life.
