Simone Biles, the world-renowned gymnast and Olympic gold medalist, has announced plans to hold a bigger wedding ceremony in a few weeks. The announcement was made during a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, where she revealed that she and her partner, NFL player Jonathan Owens, had recently tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony.

Biles responded to fans asking about the possibility of a larger ceremony, saying, “YESSSSSS!!!!! We will be having a wedding in a couple of weeks,” accompanied by a white heart emoji. She explained that the couple had wanted to get legally married in the US before their destination wedding and that they had opted to purchase inexpensive wedding bands from Amazon for the courthouse ceremony.

The gymnast had been teasing her upcoming nuptials on social media, sharing photos of herself in workout gear from Athleta and posting a picture of her and Owens holding their marriage license in a car. Fans have been eagerly anticipating details of the couple’s big day, and Biles will not disappoint.

Biles, who is considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, has been in the spotlight since winning her first Olympic gold medal at the age of 19 in 2016. She has since won 30 Olympic and World Championship medals, cementing her place as one of the most decorated athletes in history.

Biles has also been open about her struggles with mental health and has become a vocal advocate for mental health awareness in sports. In the lead-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she withdrew from several events to focus on her mental health, a decision that was met with both praise and criticism.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Biles has remained committed to her sport and her personal life. In addition to her upcoming wedding, she has also been working on a memoir, set to be released in November. The book, titled “Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance,” will detail Biles’ journey from a young gymnast to an Olympic champion, as well as her experiences with fame, family, and mental health.

Biles’ fans will no doubt be eagerly awaiting both her wedding and her memoir, as the gymnast continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.
