Julia Roberts is a Hollywood icon, with a career spanning over three decades. The actress has won multiple awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actress, and has starred in some of the most iconic films of our time. But before Roberts became a household name, she had a love life that was just as fascinating as her career.

In 1987, at the age of 19, Roberts landed her second-ever film role in the movie “Satisfaction.” It was on the set of this film that she met Liam Neeson, who was 35 at the time. Despite the 16-year age gap between them, Roberts and Neeson reportedly fell for each other and began a relationship.

According to an episode of “The Kitty Kelley Files,” a series that explores the lives of celebrities, Roberts and Neeson moved in together in Venice, California, just two weeks after meeting on the set of “Satisfaction.” The episode also suggests that Roberts may have been drawn to Neeson because she lacked a father figure in her life. “She was someone who never really had a father figure that she could look up to and admire,” Kelley said.

Roberts’ relationship with Neeson reportedly lasted from 1988 until 1990, during which time the actress continued to pursue her acting career. “Liam Neeson was great with Julia Roberts,” Kelley said. “She was new to the business, he was accomplished, he was successful—but this would start a pattern with other leading men.”

Indeed, after her relationship with Neeson ended, Roberts went on to date several of her co-stars, including Dylan McDermott, Kiefer Sutherland, and Matthew Perry. While some may see this as a pattern, others argue that it’s simply the nature of working in the entertainment industry.

Regardless of how one interprets Roberts’ romantic history, it’s clear that the actress has had a successful and fulfilling career. From her breakout role in “Mystic Pizza” to her iconic turn in “Pretty Woman,” Roberts has proven time and time again that she’s one of the most talented actresses of her generation. And while her love life may have been tumultuous at times, it’s clear that Roberts has always been a fiercely independent and driven woman.

As Roberts continues to work in Hollywood, it will be interesting to see what roles she takes on next and how her career will continue to evolve. But one thing is for certain: the actress will always be remembered as a trailblazer who paved the way for future generations of female actors.
