Charley is the rental coordinator at Folklore Event Rentals, and just one of the rad girls behind the chic California-based rental company. When she got engaged, the team pulled out all the stops (and best pieces!) to throw Charley a boho bridal shower with a decent amount of attitude on the side! They decked out Folklore Rentals, where the girls work and play, pulling inspiration from the bride herself.
Here’s a peek at how it all came together: We loved the idea of a bohemian feel to the shower, low tables with florals and greenery spilling out everywhere, but there is a definite element of edginess and glamour to our bride-to-be that we had to bring into the mix, as well! We decided to go for a “boho meets homegirl” theme, featuring a vintage Cadillac, a black peacock chair, and a lot of glamour and edge! Planning a bridal shower is such an honor and it was important to show the bride-to-be that her style and personality were part of the inspiration behind everything. Charley has been a huge asset to us and we wanted her to feel like a queen for the day!
Elyse Whall was on hand to photograph the day — SO many great details!
For the color palette, the girls landed on black and gold with pops of burgundy…and, of course, a little pink.
For the tablescape, we used a low hairpin wood table with tons of black velvet and over-dyed pillows for seating. Bloom Babes created a floral runner made up entirely of fresh roses and carnations. We lit black tapered candles in brass candlestick holders and used modern matte black plates with vintage gold flatware and mismatched brass chargers for a dark and moody vibe. The guests sipped champagne from vintage gold rimmed coupes and mid century tumblers while they danced to a Beyonce playlist to get the party started!
See that throne of a peacock chair at the end of the table?! SO rad. And we love that hanging greenery over the bride’s seat!
Heart. Eyes. OMG. Total genius move by Bloom Babes!!
We all know ladies gotta eat well!! The rich colors of this spread by Root Cellar Catering Co just add to the drama of the decor.
The black modern bar displayed a collection of vintage decanters and glassware, all decked out with lots of greenery. The maid of honor served guests while shaking it behind the bar 😉
The totally glam bride-to-be!
The lounge was romantic and feminine with vintage details like lipsticks and glassware.
Did we mention there was a vintage 1966 Cadillac convertible?! And that it was filled with deep burgundy, blush, and red hot blooms on the dash? *Dreeeeeamy*
The best part of the day was seeing the theme bring the inner diva out of everyone, getting them out on the dance floor, letting their hair down in the convertible, getting their photos taken by Union Photo Booth and sipping on some bubbly made everyone feel like a star for the day. It was a beautiful party where we helped all of the girls feel glamorous and a little wild!
Get it, girls. Thanks to Folklore Event Rentals for sharing this rad party with us and major congrats to Charley!
