According to Lownie, the former duchess rarely liked paying full price for products, fashion, or even certain services. He alleged that she often expected friends or luxury brands to provide things for free simply because of her royal connections.
“Sarah rarely paid for anything,” the author reportedly claimed, adding that she sometimes borrowed designer clothing and allegedly failed to return items or settle payments for garments she ordered.
The book also suggests that Ferguson occasionally relied on wealthy friends to help provide security arrangements, rather than paying those costs herself.
Perhaps the most surprising accusation involved claims that some staff members were expected to use their personal credit cards to cover expenses on her behalf. The book does not clearly explain whether those workers were later reimbursed.
