The Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta Diocese in Ogun State, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Odetoyinbo has revealed the lessons learned from the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

Odetoyinbo said Coronavirus has caused more people to draw closer to God, rather than creating fears in their minds.

The man of God spoke at a seminar organized by the Justice Development and Peace Movement (JDPM) of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The Bishop, who was represented by the Director of Social Communications in the Diocese, Red. Fr. Gregory Fadele, said “Contrary to the notion that the world is being rebooted, the lessons learned from the pandemic is that the grace of God always abounds with the saints.

“Though the worst is not yet over, the grace of God has shown that God will never allow His chosen ones to pass through periods that He has no control over,” he said.

wowplus.net  reports that the JDPM was advocating for more enduring policies that will assist Nigerians to cope with the post-COVID-19 pandemic era through the seminar tagged, “Implications, gains, and impact of COVID-19 on our socio-economy.”

The JDPM also called for a people-oriented welfarist approach to cushion the effect of the pandemic on the masses, while also tasking the government at all levels to urgently look into ways to salvage the economy from the impacts and factors that are likely to cripple the economy of the country.

Admonishing Nigerians to continue to obey all precautions to curtail further spread of the virus, Bishop Odetoyinbo expressed optimism that the country will soon witness a better turn around.
