Popular Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan has criticised Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh following a viral video showing her leading what appeared to be a deliverance session during a school visit.

The controversy began after Tonto Dikeh shared several clips on her Instagram page on Friday, March 6, 2026, documenting what she described as a spiritual encounter during an evangelism outreach at a school.

What Happened During the School Visit

In the videos, the actress said that as she and her team were preparing to leave the school premises, she sensed what she described as a “spirit of death” in the area.

According to her, she immediately alerted members of her team, prompting them to begin praying.

The prayer session reportedly escalated into what appeared to be a deliverance exercise involving some of the students present at the school.

The clips quickly circulated online, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.

VeryDarkMan Reacts

Reacting to the videos, VeryDarkMan strongly condemned the incident, urging the actress not to involve children in dramatic spiritual displays for online content.

He also warned Tonto Dikeh to stay away from the school, stating that it is located within his community.

The influencer emphasised that children should not be exposed to such activities, particularly in public settings that may influence how they interpret life challenges.

Calls for Practical Support Instead

VeryDarkMan further argued that rather than staging public deliverance sessions, public figures should focus on offering practical support to children in underserved communities.

He noted that he had personally contributed to improving the school environment by renovating parts of the facility to support and encourage the students.

“With all due respect to Tonto Dikeh … this is a warning do not come to my area to do this again … na only poor man children good to test your powers. Leave my area kids alone.

“We want to raise kids with real life orientation not an ideology that if you don’t make it there is something following you from village. Prayers are good however without work prayers are not useful.

“Take your new content somewhere else, leave ghetto kids alone,” he wrote in the Instagram caption.

Mixed Reactions Online

The incident has sparked debate on social media, with some users supporting Tonto Dikeh’s religious outreach, while others sided with VeryDarkMan, arguing that children should not be subjected to public deliverance sessions.

The actress has yet to publicly respond to the criticism.
