Transfer: Very tenacious player – Brentford coach on arrival of Fredrick

Brentford B head coach, Neil MacFarlane is delighted with the arrival of Benjamin Fredrick at the club.

The Flying Eagles defender linked up with the Bees from Simoiben FC on loan on Thursday.

There is also an option to make the signing permanent.

MacFarlane described Fredrick as a great prospect and hopes he develops with time.

“Benjamin is a player who has been identified by our recruitment department and he’s a real prospect, having impressed for Nigeria in recent tournaments,” he told the club’s official website.

“He’s a very tenacious player who likes to defend on the front foot. He’s somebody we will look to develop through our games programme, and we’ll see how his development progresses over the course of his loan. We look forward to welcoming Benjamin to the club.”

The Premier League club scouted Fredrick during the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations early this year in Egypt.

The centre-back also featured for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Argentina.
