Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has announced his administration’s plans to create agricultural hubs throughout the nation in a bid to increase production and engage in value-added processing. The President made this known during his inaugural address at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Monday.

In his speech, Tinubu emphasized the need to secure rural income by establishing commodity exchange boards that will guarantee minimal prices for certain crops and animal products. He also revealed that his administration will undertake a nationwide program for storage and other facilities to reduce spoilage and waste.

The President further reiterated his commitment to the agricultural sector, stating that the creation of agricultural hubs throughout the nation will increase production and engage in value-added processing. This, he said, will lead to the expansion of the industry and the creation of more job opportunities for Nigerians.

Tinubu also highlighted the importance of the livestock sector, stating that his administration will introduce best modern practices and take steps to minimize the perennial conflict over land and water resources in this sector. He added that these actions would make food more abundant yet less costly, while farmers would earn more and the average Nigerian would pay less.

The President’s announcement has been met with mixed reactions from Nigerians. Some have expressed optimism about the potential of the plan to revolutionize the agricultural sector and boost the country’s economy. Others, however, have raised concerns about the feasibility of the plan, citing the lack of infrastructure and resources in many rural areas.

Despite these concerns, Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to the development of the agricultural sector and will work tirelessly to ensure the success of the plan. He urged all stakeholders in the industry to support his administration’s efforts to transform agriculture in Nigeria.

The President’s announcement comes at a time when the country is facing numerous challenges, including insecurity, economic instability, and a rising population. The success of his plan to revolutionize the agricultural sector will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the country’s future.
