In a recent display of valor and determination, the troops of the military joint taskforce, Operation Haderin Daji (OPHD), have successfully neutralized 10 terrorists in Katsina and Zamfara states. This significant feat was achieved during the recent dry season clearance operations, under the command of Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army.
According to a statement released by Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesperson for OPHD, the combined troops of the OPHD executed an offensive operation on the 3rd of January 2024 in identified terrorists’ enclaves at Batsari and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State. The operation resulted in the neutralization of 10 terrorists, with others fleeing the scene with gunshot wounds.

In addition to the successful neutralization of the terrorists, the troops also made significant recoveries during the operation. These included 1 AK-47 rifle, ammunition, 7 Dane guns, 3 locally fabricated guns, and other dangerous weapons. Furthermore, communication gadgets, mobile phones, and military uniforms were seized, and 4 motorcycles recovered were promptly destroyed.
Simultaneously, on the same day, troops of Operation Haderin Daji conducted a search and rescue operation in Zamfara State, specifically at Dansadau and Dandalla villages in Maru Local Government Area. This operation resulted in the rescue of 9 kidnapped victims, comprising 5 women and 4 babies. These individuals had been abandoned by the fleeing terrorists following a gun duel with the resilient troops.

The rescued victims were swiftly reunited with their families at Magami, marking a heartening conclusion to their harrowing ordeal.
