Insecurity: Bauchi lawmaker wants Nigerians to embrace tourism to foster national unity

In order to overcome security challenges bedeviling Nigeria, a member representing Bogoro Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honourable Musa Wakili Nakwada, has urged citizens to embrace tourism and culture among the diverse ethnic groups.

Hon Nakwada, who is also the spokesperson of the assembly, observed that what Nigeria needed most is unity among all the ethnic groups.

Speaking on Sunday in Bauchi during the 2022 annual cultural celebration day organized by the Department of Tourism and Management of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.

The lawmaker disclosed that the state legislature will soon commence the process of passing of the bill to support and upgrade tourism activities in the State.

He further explained that the Bauchi state government will leverage on tourism attractions to create more job opportunities for the teaming youths in the state.

Earlier speaking, the Head of Department, Tourism and Management Technology, Murtala Muhammad, said the aim of organizing the event was to help inculcate the importance of unity among Nigerians in the minds of the students through cultural heritage.

Also speaking, the General Manager of Bauchi State Tourism Development Agency, Nasiru Muhammad, said the agency is working with all relevant stakeholders towards promoting cultural heritage and unity among diverse ethnic groups in the institution.
