The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on Wednesday commended gallant policemen for repelling kidnappers and killing three of them.
The policemen scuttled an attempt in the early hours of Wednesday by criminals to abduct some expatriates in the state.
A statement on Wednesday signed by Senior Special Assistant to Governor Elrufai on Media and Publicity Mr. Samuel Aruwan, said, “The governor praised the police action, and urged security agencies to intensify necessary measures to secure the state and enhance citizen confidence.”
According to him, a government statement said that the governor also noted the recovery of firearms in the incident.
“The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has welcomed the police action that foiled a criminal attempt to abduct staff of a construction company in Kaduna in the early hours of today. The gallant policemen scuttled the criminal act and killed three of the kidnappers.
“Furthermore, three AK 47 rifles and six magazines were also recovered. The Governor on behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State commended the gallantry of the policemen, and appreciated their sheer patriotism, dedication and sacrifice for the peace and security of not only Kaduna State but the nation at large,” he added.
