Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially confirmed that a joint project with American R&B star Chris Brown is on the way — and fans won’t have to wait too long.
Speaking on the Swift Conversations podcast, Davido revealed that the long-anticipated collaboration will arrive next year, adding fresh excitement to one of Afrobeats’ most consistent international linkups.
“We’ve got an album coming”
Davido made it clear this isn’t just another single — it’s a full project:
“Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year.”
While he didn’t give an exact date, the confirmation alone has sparked massive anticipation, especially considering their strong track record together.
Staying African, but global
Davido also shared insight into the direction of his upcoming music, emphasizing a return to his roots:
“The music I am making now is very African… I’m working with my original producers from back home.”
Still, he made it clear that global collaborations remain part of his identity:
“I am still an American so definitely there’s going to be collaborations.”
That balance — African core with global appeal — is exactly what has helped him dominate both local and international charts.
A proven hit-making duo
Davido and Chris Brown already have a strong musical chemistry. Their first major hit, Blow My Mind, dropped in 2019 and quickly became a fan favorite.
Since then, they’ve collaborated on multiple tracks, building a catalog that blends Afrobeats rhythms with smooth R&B vocals.
Davido also revealed that they have many unreleased songs, which means the upcoming album could be packed with long-awaited material.
Years in the making
This project didn’t happen overnight. Davido first teased the idea back in 2023, and fans have been waiting ever since.
Now that it’s officially confirmed, expectations are high — not just for hits, but for a project that could further bridge Afrobeats and global pop music.
