Bryan Cranston, the award-winning actor best known for his role as Walter White in the hit television series “Breaking Bad,” recently appeared on the talk show “Double Date with Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue” to discuss his personal life. During the show, Cranston opened up about his first marriage to writer Mickey Middleton, which ended in divorce in 1982.
Cranston spoke candidly about the reasons behind the breakup, stating that while Middleton was a lovely person, the timing was wrong and he wasn’t in love with her. He expressed regret for not taking the decision to marry more seriously, acknowledging that it was unfair to both parties involved.
Despite the challenges of his first marriage, Cranston found love again with his current wife, actor Robin Dearden. The couple met on the set of the CBS action series “Airwolf” in 1986 and quickly became friends. However, they both were dating other people at the time and didn’t pursue a romantic relationship.

It wasn’t until they crossed paths again that they realized their true feelings for each other. Cranston and Dearden started dating and eventually tied the knot in 1989. They have been together ever since, with their love story spanning over three decades.
In a 2016 interview with People magazine, Cranston reflected on the importance of timing in his relationship with Dearden. He stated that if they had started dating when they first met, it might not have worked out. However, by waiting and giving their relationship time to develop, they were able to build a strong foundation for their marriage.
The couple’s love story continued to flourish with the birth of their daughter, Taylor, in 1993. Like her parents, Taylor has pursued a career in acting and has appeared on shows such as “American Vandal” and “For All Mankind.”
