Taylor Swift Drops Clues about 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in Latest Project

In the ever-engaging world of Taylor Swift and her devoted fanbase, it seems that the pop star has once again left a trail of clues for her followers to dissect. Swift, known for dropping cryptic messages in her music, liner notes, and social media posts, has sparked fervent speculation among Swifties regarding her upcoming album, 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Fans were given a significant piece of evidence in May 2022, when the singer-songwriter’s rendition of “This Love” from the 1989 album was featured in the trailer for the teen drama series, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Swift took to Instagram to express her gratitude to director Jenny Han and revealed that her version of “This Love,” renamed as “This Love (Taylor’s Version),” would be released at midnight.

The release of “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” is not the first indication that Swift has been crafting her reimagined 1989 album. In September 2021, she provided a sneak peek of the updated version of her hit song, “Wildest Dreams,” hinting at the possibility of a full-scale re-release of her 2014 album.

Adding further fuel to the speculation, fans noticed that shortly after The Summer I Turned Pretty trailer premiere, a dedicated “1989 Shop” appeared on Swift’s official merchandise store. The shop featured a plethora of items emblazoned with the album title, including sweatshirts, tumblers, blankets, and sunglasses. Notably, the store also offered the “1989 seagull necklace,” resembling the shirt worn by Swift on the original album cover. Swift aficionados connected this necklace to the silver airplane necklaces previously owned by the singer and her former flame, Harry Styles, which Swift references in the song “Out of the Woods.”

In response to a fan’s TikTok video in November 2021, which pointed out that her “All Too Well” short film featured a car made in 1989, Swift playfully commented, “Can’t stop won’t stop being cryptic and weird. That’s just the beginning.”
