TV broadcast journalist Tamron Hall is going to be a mother! Oh yeah, and she’s also apparently married. Who knew!
On Monday, March 4, 2019, Hall took to social media to share the exciting news of her pregnancy, while cluing fans in on her secret marriage. In a video posted to her Instagram page, Hall, wearing a white one-shoulder dress and gold statement earrings, danced along to “Baby Shark,” the children’s song that’s taken over pop culture. Moving a Baby Shark book that she’d been holding in front of her stomach, the former Today show host revealed a baby bump while singing along to the lyrics. “Surprise, guys!” Hall exclaimed. “Can you believe it? I’m about to be a mommy shark very soon.”
In the video’s caption, the 48-year-old added, “When one song captures the personal news I want to share with you (yes, you)!”
In a separate post, Hall told her 531,000 followers that she’d wanted to announce her pregnancy for months and only now had her doctor said she was “in a safe place, at 32 weeks” to tell others of her baby news. And apparently Hall’s been hoping to become a mother for some time, as she noted, “It’s clear a daytime talk show isn’t the only thing I’ve been trying to produce,” referencing her new show Tamron Hall that she’d shared news of earlier in the day.
“There have been many tears, but today I embrace the smiles. My husband Steven and I are beyond excited!” she continued, effectively revealing that she’s married. “We’re in constant prayer, so if you pray, add us to your list; if you meditate, send calmness our way; and if you believe in luck, we’ll happily take that too. More to share in a few weeks when the baby arrives! Next chapter! Blessed and Grateful.” Along with another shot of her in the white dress, Hall also shared photos of herself in a bathing suit, holding her baby bump, and of herself with, presumably, her husband, clinking glasses on a boat.
Since Hall broke the news that she’s expecting her first child, fans have taken to her social media posts to leave comments congratulating the mama-to-be. “I am SO happy for you. Praying for a healthy pregnancy and delivery!! Enjoy the kicks and hiccups!!” one Instagram user wrote, as reported by Celebrity Insider. “Congratulations to you & your husband. I didn’t know you were even married. Many blessings for a safe delivery.”
Another person commented, “Congratulations Tamron & Steven! WOW! May love, peace, and joy continue to be apart of your lives. So excited for you both!! Congrats on all the beautiful and amazing life changing events happening this year!!”
Prior to Hall’s social media announcement, it wasn’t publicly known that she was married. According to Page Six, Hall’s husband’s name is Steven Greener, and he is a music executive. The Daily Mail no that Greener used to manage rapper-actor Will Smith. In August 2017, Variety reported that Greener became the head of music talent management at Primary Wave Entertainment, where artists like Cee Lo Green, Brandy, and Fantasia have signed. Greener has also reportedly been involved in producing film and TV projects, including Above the Rim, New Jack City, and The Bernie Mac Show.
While Hall’s marriage to Greener has largely been kept under wraps and she’s yet to reveal just when they tied the knot, Hall did comment on a relationship she was in during an appearance on the Steve Harvey show in February 2017 (via People). Though it’s unclear if Hall was seeing Greener at this point, she told host Steve Harvey that her beau, whom she did not name, worked in “entertainment.”
Tamron Hall has opened up about her desire to have children in the past. During a May 2016 Today show segment, she revealed that, while she loved her life when she was 25 years old, she, in hindsight, wished that she would’ve had a child back then. “I know it’s young, but I would have at least started the process,” she said. While she may have wished she’d started her family when she was younger, we’re sure she’s nonetheless thrilled with her current pregnancy.
With her husband, her future baby, and her talk show that’s scheduled to premiere in September, 2019 appears to already shaping up to be a pretty great year for Tamron Hall. Congratulations, Tamron! We wish you well!
