Back in 2003, Vanessa was serving as a VJ for MTV’s “TRL” when she met Nick. Nick, who was still married to Jessica Simpson at the time, would visit “TRL” to discuss his career ventures. Vanessa and Nick’s interactions were always friendly and work-related. “It was always about business, and it was always nice to see him,” Vanessa shared in an interview with Billboard in 2017.

Vanessa shared with CBS News in 2023, “So, now we’re both single … I’ll never forget, we were in New York, and I was like, ‘Hello, Nick Lachey!’ It just all came together.”
