In a heartbreaking announcement, it has been confirmed that Mark Goddard, renowned for his roles in the soap opera “General Hospital” as Derek Barrington and as Major Don West in the iconic CBS TV series “Lost in Space,” has passed away at the age of 87. According to Pezzulich, Goddard was diagnosed with pneumonia shortly after celebrating his birthday. Although there was hope when he was transferred to a rehabilitation center, doctors later discovered that he was in the advanced stages of pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition. Pezzulich shared that she was by his side during his final moments, as were their children. Together, they had a son named John. Goddard is also survived by his daughter Melissa and son Michael, whom he had with his first wife, the late Hollywood art consultant Marcia Rogers.
