Today’s love shoot offers plenty of inspiration for the adventurous couple! Taylor, Skye, and their photographer, Dawn, arrived at Arches National Park in Utah just as first light appeared. We LOVE seeing engagement photos, elopements, and even weddings take place at national parks. So many opportunities for breathtaking photos against nature’s most beautiful colors! And we can hardly imagine anything more romantic than celebrating your love with such epic landscapes as your backdrop!
Speaking of epic, the story of how Taylor + Skye met is SO sweet that we couldn’t help but share. Taylor recalls how the adventure began against the dreamy images from Dawn Photo…let’s have a look!
Skye and I had been searching for one another for longer than we knew. We may have crossed paths a handful of times while I was living in Utah but, ironically, the timing wasn’t right until I had gone to live back home in the south. He was recently single and I had been home about half a year when my mother decided to sign me up for an online dating service.
I spent awhile sifting through requests and messages to find my perfect match. I was starting to tire of all the searching, until one night when I was sick with a fever. I was casually scrolling through my inbox when I saw a message from Skye.
How cool is Taylor’s look, by the way?! Her dress is from Sweet Caroline Styles, a designer who creates “fearless separates for the modern siren” Just YES.
My eyes lit up, and suddenly I felt like the person I had waited my whole life to find was here. My perfect match and the man of my dreams. I didn’t know a piece of me was missing until I found him, and suddenly I knew. It was him.
After talking on the phone and messaging back and forth for about a month, Skye and I knew we couldn’t be apart another day. So I quit my job and accepted a one way ticket to fly across the country. I couldn’t have been more nervous for anything in my entire life. It felt like I was living some sort of fairytale love story.
LOVE this photo! So romantic!
When I saw him my fears melted away, and the kiss he gave me in the airport isn’t one I could forget in a hundred lifetimes. I could have sworn sparks were flying, and suddenly my heart was complete.
It wasn’t long after that we were married and he whisked me away on a tropical honeymoon. I don’t think we’ve spent more than a handful of days apart since the day I received his winky-face emoji that day on my couch in the south, and I’m excited for the lifetime of adventure we have ahead.
Here’s to more adventures and great stories, T+S! And thanks to Dawn Photo for sharing these incredible images with us!
