With only a few more months before fall forces our bright berry-painted toes into layers of socks and Chelsea boots (Harry Styles is actually excited about this), we have to take a moment to appreciate the greater things in life. Namely: slides. For starters, the sweltering heat keeps us perpetually poolside in rubber slides, which enable our feet to enjoy the summer sole-stice on miniature yoga mats. Also gone are the days when a pesky toe-thong separated our big toe from its babies — even more of an incentive to let things slide. So when Lyst filled us in on the most-searched and purchased summer sandal, we weren’t surprised to see the locker room shoe still holding its top spot.
Although Adidas slides arguably propelled the pool slide into the trendsetting pack‘s Sunday uniforms, more brands have entered the slide space of late, causing the originals to fall in popularity. Instead, eager summer slipper wearers have slid into luxury brands like Gucci and Givenchy. According to Lyst’s data, the top 10 most sold slides include: four Gucci pairs, a Givenchy and Valentino sandal and more reasonably priced pairs from Birkenstock, Nike, Jeffrey Campbell and Hinge. In addition, Lyst revealed that “pool slides” were the most frequently searched of the slide variety, with “Gucci slides” being typed into the search bar 526 percent more times than any other type of slide — Gucci’s game is ridiculously strong.
Lyst’s Top 10 Selling Slides
Of course, a Valentino rock-stud piece or anything with a “Givenchy” logo will cost you a pretty penny — and some of us would rather decorate our homes with Gucci than our feet. So in the spirit of summer lounging, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite pool slides on the market, all priced under $85. These rubber footbeds didn’t make the top 10 on Lyst, but we promise they will rise to the top of your summer shopping list. And even better, we’ve got slides for logo-maniacs, minimalists and foliage lovers.
