Manchester City’s winning start to the Women’s Super League season continued as they comfortably beat Birmingham City for a fourth WSL win from four.

A deflected strike from England midfielder Keira Walsh put the hosts ahead in quiet, drab first half.

Man City were much livelier after the break and Tessa Wullaert turned in from Janine Beckie’s cross, before Lee Geum-min’s finish from Lauren Hemp’s ball.

The result puts them top of the table, with Arsenal facing Chelsea on Sunday.

Man City have won their first seven games in all competitions this term, keeping four clean sheets from a possible four in the league.

By contrast, Marta Tejedor’s visitors remain without a goal or a point in the WSL this term, although they have a game in hand.

Belgium’s Wullaert and England winger Hemp both hit the post for the hosts, who were excellent after the break.

At the other end, Birmingham rarely threatened to pull one back and failed to have a single effort on target.

The hosts’ afternoon was capped off by a first goal in English football for substitute Lee Geum-min, after the South Korea forward’s summer move from Gyeongju KHNP.

The Gunners and Nick Cushing’s leaders are the only WSL sides to boast 100% records and they will both resume their Women’s Champions League campaigns this week.
