Storm Smith certainly found his perfect storm in Natalya Scudder aboard the motor yacht home on Season 7 of “Below Deck Mediterranean.” The pair quickly fell head over heels for each other’s flirty banter, and it wasn’t long before the bosun was buying jewelry for the stew and teasing getting her name tattooed. “[She] provided me an escape to all the difficulties and pressure and the anxiety I had for the season, and for that I was very, very grateful,” Smith shared during the reunion episode.
Scudder, who had revealed during the season that she struggled with trust issues of her own, said the relationship didn’t work as the pair was in different places in life. “I think if we worked on a yacht together still, I think we would have a relationship, but he was going back to, I think, South Africa [and] I was going back to Australia. And for me in my head, I kind of already made a decision it most likely wasn’t going to work due to the time and places we were going to be.”
Smith found love again with a new girlfriend, who he frequently posts with on Instagram traveling around the world. “Happy birthday boks, life is f beautiful with ya,” he captioned one photo alongside the brunette. Despite their relationship not working out on land, Smith and Scudder did manage to hide their hookups from cameras. “She was down in the bosun’s locker a lot,” Captain Sandy Yawn hinted during the reunion.
