Barcelona Getafe 3-0 extended Hansi Flick’s perfect LaLiga start and offered another sign that the champions are finding goals from more than one source. Anthony Gordon opened the scoring, Gabriel Jesus marked his first league start with his first Barcelona goal, and Jules Kounde completed a comfortable home victory that kept the leaders five points clear of Atletico Madrid.

Reuters reported that Barcelona have now won all eight of their league matches this season. Gordon struck early, Jesus added the second before half-time, and Kounde finished the job in the second half. The scoreline was convincing, but the more important detail was how naturally Barcelona absorbed new attacking pieces without losing the structure that has carried them through the opening weeks.

Perfect starts can disappear quickly in football, so eight wins do not settle a title race in October. They do, however, create breathing room and confidence. Barcelona are building both. The Getafe match was another example of a team capable of dominating without depending entirely on one star to rescue it.

Anthony Gordon is beginning to look comfortable in Barcelona’s attack

Gordon’s first Barcelona goal arrived almost immediately, giving him a moment that could help accelerate his adaptation. New signings are often judged too quickly, especially attackers who arrive with a large transfer fee and a reputation built in another league. Scoring early in a new season can remove some of that pressure and allow a player to focus on the smaller details of fitting into a new system.

His strengths are well suited to Flick’s aggressive approach. Gordon likes to attack space, make direct runs and press defenders quickly after possession is lost. Those qualities can stretch opponents and create room for teammates between the lines. Barcelona have often been associated with patient possession, but Flick’s version is comfortable combining control with sudden vertical attacks.

Wowplus previously looked at Barcelona’s threat against Newcastle in Europe, where the team’s ability to punish space was already a major talking point. Gordon adds another runner capable of turning a controlled spell into a direct attack within seconds.

One goal does not prove that the move will be a long-term success, but it gives Gordon a reference point. He now has a league goal, a clear role and a team around him that is winning. That is a much easier environment for a new attacker than joining a side still searching for an identity.

Gabriel Jesus gives Flick another route through the middle

Jesus’ first Barcelona start produced an immediate return as well. His goal was important not only because it doubled the lead but because it showed how Flick can use him differently from the club’s other forwards. Jesus can drop into midfield, drift wide, combine in tight spaces and press from the front. That flexibility helps Barcelona change attacking shapes without making a substitution.

Barcelona’s recent history has included plenty of discussion about who should lead the line. Wowplus previously covered Robert Lewandowski’s role in the LaLiga scoring race, and the broader issue has remained the same: elite teams need goals from several attackers if they want to compete across a long season.

Jesus does not need to replace anyone permanently to be valuable. His presence can reduce the burden on the main striker, offer a different option against compact defenses and help manage minutes during congested periods. The Getafe match suggested that he can contribute immediately rather than needing months to understand the system.

That matters because Barcelona’s schedule will become more demanding. League matches, European fixtures and domestic cups create a rhythm in which injuries and fatigue quickly expose thin squads. A forward who can play centrally or from wider positions gives Flick more ways to rotate without changing the entire attacking idea.

Barcelona’s depth is becoming the real story of the perfect start

Eight straight league wins naturally create headlines about momentum, but the more sustainable story is depth. Barcelona have won matches with different scorers, different combinations and different tactical solutions. That makes it harder for opponents to prepare for one specific threat.

Kounde’s goal against Getafe was another example. Defenders contributing in the final third can turn a comfortable performance into a decisive one. When goals arrive from full-backs, midfielders and several forwards, opponents cannot simply focus on one player.

The squad also appears more capable of absorbing change. Wowplus has followed Barcelona’s efforts to reshape their attacking options, and the current group looks increasingly built around interchangeable pieces rather than a fixed front three.

That does not mean every selection decision becomes easy. More depth creates competition, and players who perform well will expect minutes. Flick’s job is to maintain clarity so that rotation feels like part of the plan rather than a punishment. A winning team can usually manage that tension more easily, but the challenge grows when form changes.

The title race is still early, but Barcelona are setting the pace

Barcelona’s perfect start has already created a useful points cushion, but October is far too early to treat five points as decisive. Atletico Madrid remain close enough to apply pressure, while Real Madrid are still capable of building a long winning run despite their own uneven performances.

The important thing for Barcelona is that they are not winning through one repeated pattern. Some matches have required patience, others speed, and Getafe was controlled with a combination of early aggression and comfortable game management. That variety is often what separates a strong run from a short burst of form.

There are still tests ahead. Stronger opponents will press higher, defend transitions more aggressively and force Barcelona’s new signings into more difficult decisions. The perfect start will eventually be challenged by injuries, fatigue and matches in which the first goal does not arrive quickly.

For now, though, Barcelona Getafe 3-0 was another efficient step forward. Gordon’s first goal reduced pressure on a major new signing, Jesus showed he can give Flick a different attacking option, and Kounde added the finishing touch. Eight league games have produced eight wins. The next question is not whether Barcelona can start well, but how long this depth can keep the standard so high.
