Rivals offer Terry one-year deal

Aston Villa are in pole position to land John Terry, according to Sky sources

Rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham have both offered John Terry a one-year contract, Sky sources understand.

Sources believe Villa have made Terry a lucrative one-year contract offer, as have Midlands rivals Birmingham, but the former England captain favours a move to Villa Park to work with Steve Bruce.

West Brom, Swansea and Bournemouth were all interested in the 36-year old, but Terry is reluctant to play against Chelsea, where he spent two decades as a player. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in three days’ time.
