Former Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has stated that God brought President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to heal and unite Nigeria. He made this remark while commending the duo for their interest in the country during an interview with Arise Television on Friday.

Umahi also noted that the president was behind the emergence of Godswill Akapbio as the next Senate President. He called on all those who love the country to queue behind Akapbio, adding that the PDP was against their Muslim-Muslim ticket, so they should not be against a Christian Senate presidency.

“I was one of the first people to signify interest for the Senate Presidency, having been the Chairman of the Southeast governors forum, but I should not be seen to opposing my president,” he said.

Umahi’s statement has caused mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some praising him for his stance while others criticized him for his comments on the Senate Presidency.

Many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their opinions, with some calling for unity and others calling for accountability from their leaders.

Meanwhile, Umahi’s comments have sparked a debate on the role of religion in Nigerian politics. Some argue that religion should not be a factor in choosing leaders, while others believe that it is important to have a balance between different religious groups.

As the debate continues, it is important for Nigerian leaders to prioritize the interests of the country and work towards its unity and progress.
