What do you get when a California gal teams up with an Italian photographer + wedding planner? Oh, just today’s editorial shot in ROME! Florist, Christine Cater, ventured to Italy with a stunning Bo and Luca dress from Loho Bride in Los Angeles. She met up with Lilly Red Creative + planner Camilla Cascino to find the *perfect* location to show off the dress… However, on day three of scouting for a location, they still hadn’t found the one!
Lilly shares It was a colossal and challenging dream… We searched for almost three days during Rome’s Holy Week to find the most powerful + inspiring location. We went around the Colosseum, then up and down Via dei Fori Imperial, over to Piazza di Spagna and then back to the Colosseum again. Giving up was never a thought, as Christine and I were determined to find the right inspiration. With the help of Camilla, and her local-girl knowledge, we found it.

Lilly shares On the third day, after lunch and shopping (much needed to clear our minds) we saw it — a little green hill on a side of the Colosseum with the perfect perch for our model. Each angle, carefully curated for a glimpse of the awe inspiring Colosseum. All the attention was on our beautiful model, Ottavia, holding a bouquet made by Christine.
The sunset in Rome shone golden light onto Ottavia and it gave us all goosebumps. Framed by two life size palm fronds, she stood as a proud Roman Commander’s wife. It was like she was coming back to life to show us her beauty in her wedding gown. She was divine.
She walked with the old ruins as if this was her home… How beautiful was this styled shoot? From the perfect location, to the simplicity of the florals, and that dress!
