A’s starter Paul Blackburn left in the fifth inning of his start against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday after being struck by a line drive.

Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area gave us some promising news, indicating that Blackburn didn’t break any bones in his hand or wrist.

It’s unclear if Blackburn will make his next start. For a team this far out of the race, there’s not a lot of reason to press a pitcher into action, particularly a rookie. We’ll keep you apprised as we get ore info on when Blackburn will pitch next.
