Akwa United head coach, Fatai Osho, expressed his frustration after the team was held to a 0-0 draw by Shooting Stars at the Eket Stadium on Sunday. The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions dominated the game but were let down by their poor marksmanship.

Akwa United has yet to record a win in four outings this season, piling more pressure on the gaffer. The team’s poor form has seen them fail to register a goal in their last two NPFL games.

The youthful coach attributed the goal drought to his strikers, who have failed to convert the chances created. “It’s a sad occurrence, we deserve maximum points in this encounter. The same problem, I mean the quality in that attack is becoming a headache,” Osho said in his post-match interview.

“We work so hard during the week to get an improvement in that final third, it’s unbelievable that we are leaving this match with just a solitary point, it’s very very sad. The quality in our attack, those are the players we have, it is becoming a headache. We are not really benefiting from the hard work we put in from our defense to the midfield. When we get to the final third, we dash it away and we come back, it’s just unbelievable.”

The Promise Keepers have been struggling to find their form this season, and the draw against Shooting Stars only adds to their woes. The team has been working hard to improve their attack, but so far, they have been unable to convert their chances into goals.

Osho’s frustration is understandable, as the team has been putting in a lot of effort to turn things around. However, the coach is confident that his side will bounce back from this setback and start scoring goals.

“We have to keep working hard, keep trying to improve. We know what we need to do, and we will keep working towards that. It’s a tough situation, but we have to keep our heads up and keep fighting,” Osho said.

Akwa United’s next game is against Nasarawa United, and the team will be hoping to end their goal drought and secure their first win of the season. The Promise Keepers have a talented squad, and if they can start converting their chances, they could quickly turn their season around.

As the team continues to struggle, fans will be hoping that Osho can find a way to get his side firing on all cylinders. The coach has a wealth of experience in the game, and he will be looking to use that experience to guide his team to success this season.
