Harden sets record with career-high triple

Tuesday night was packed with NBA action, featuring some terrific performances that included a career-high 60-point game by Houston Rockets guard James Harden.

Rockets strike Magic

James Harden recorded the first 60-point triple-double with 10 rebounds and 11 assists to see the Houston Rockets beat the Orlando Magic 114-107. Congolese/Angolan-Swiss center Clint Capela had a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Gerald Green 11 points and six rebounds.

Marreese Speights led the Magic with 17 points and five rebounds, Mario Herzonja also had 17, Shelvin Mack 15 with six rebounds and four assists, while Jonathan Simmons also finished with 15.

Blazers burn Clippers

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 104-96 on Damian Lillard’s 28 points, four rebounds and seven assists, Jusuf Nurkic had 14-point, 20-rebound double-double, CJ McCollum 16 points and five rebounds, and Nigerian forward Al-Farouq Aminu also added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Clippers were led by Lou Williams with 20 points and five assists, Montrezl Harrell had 15 and seven rebounds, DeAndre Jordan eight and 19 rebounds, while Tyrone Wallace and Danilo Gallinari combined for 30 with 15 each.

Spurs smash Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 106-106. LaMarcus Aldridge had 30 points and five rebounds, Pau Gasol 18, eight rebounds and four assists, Kyle Anderson also chipped in 18, four rebounds and five assists, and Manu Ginobili ended the game with 14 and four assists.

Jamal Murray led Denver with 18 points and six rebounds, Gary Harris had 17, Congolese guard Emmanuel Mudiay 14 and four assists, while Will Barton and Nikola Jokic combined for 26 with 16 points apiece.

Knicks take New York

The Knicks won the New York battle and beat the Brooklyn Nets 111-95 on Enes Kanter’s 20-point, 20-rebound double-double, Kristaps Porzingis had 28 points and five rebounds, and Michael Beasley finished with a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Brooklyn were led by DeMarre Carroll with 17 points and seven rebounds, Jarrett Allen, Allen Crabbe and Nik Stauskas combined for 36 with 12 each, and Spencer Dinwiddie ended the night with 11 and seven assists.

A 21-point, 22-rebound double-double from recently announced All-Star Andre Drummond helped the Detroit Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 125-114; the Utah Jazz defeated the Golden State Warriors 129-99 on Ricky Rubio’s 23-point, 11-assist double-double; DeMar DeRozan had 23 points in the Toronto Raptors’ 109-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves; the Washington Wizards beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 102-96, and the Sacramento Kings defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 114-103 on the back of Zach Randolph’s 26-point, 12-rebound double-double.
