Eid-el-Fitr: Zamfara Police command assures adequate security across the state

The Zamfara State Police Command has assured that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure hitch-free celebration before, during, and after the period.

A press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by the State Police Spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu said the Command is partnering with other sister security agencies, and religious and community leaders to avert any unwarranted incident and safeguard lives and property across the state.

“Among the crime prevention strategies adopted were rigorous patrol, stop and search and Joint show of force to cover vulnerable locations, especially at the Eid praying grounds, recreation centers, highways, parks and other public places across the State” the statement noted.

The statement said the State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkana has demanded continuous collaboration among security agencies and the host communities to achieve this mandate, enjoining effective sharing of information on activities of criminal elements for quick response.

The Commissioner appealed for maximum cooperation to clamp down the activities of the critical elements during and after the festive period.
