In a recent turn of events, the Lagos State Police Command has swiftly moved to clarify a misleading report that Afro singer Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, was re-arrested in connection to the tragic death of his colleague, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Speculations had been rife that Primeboy faced re-arrest on Tuesday during his routine visit to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba. This visit was part of his consistent cooperation with authorities since his initial arrest amidst the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s passing a few months back.

Initial reports circulating on Tuesday suggested that Primeboy had been detained once again by the Lagos police command during his visit to the SCID. However, these claims were swiftly dispelled by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who labeled the report as entirely false.

In an exclusive conversation with our correspondent, SP Hundeyin clarified that Primeboy was not re-arrested as claimed. Instead, he was permitted to return home on Tuesday with instructions to report back on Wednesday, thus debunking the swirling rumors of his detainment.

This recent development sheds light on the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident involving Mohbad and the subsequent legal proceedings. Primeboy’s continued cooperation with law enforcement underscores his commitment to assisting in the resolution of this case.

The clarification provided by the Lagos State Police Command serves as a reminder of the importance of accurate reporting and the potential consequences of misinformation in sensitive matters such as this.

As the investigation into the untimely demise of Mohbad continues, it is crucial for all parties involved to maintain transparency and adhere to due process to ensure justice is served.
