The Legislative Council of Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, has suspended the Chairman of the local government, Hon. Prince Samuel Onuh over “gross misconduct”.
The council boss was suspended after a vote of no confidence was passed on him by members of the legislative house on Thursday 10th February, 2022.
gathered that 11 out of 13 council members endorsed the suspension of the chairman.
Only Anthony Owoicho from Itabobo 1 objected to the suspension as the other lawmaker was absent.

According to the suspension letter, which was spotted by our correspondent, the suspension is with “immediate effect” and would last for a period of three months.
The letter was signed by the Leader of the House, Hon. Idoko Jacob, and the Clerk, Hon. Adamu Suleiman.
The letter reads: “Rising from her 66th sitting held on 10/2/2022, the Ogbadibo Local Government Legislative Council has passed a vote of no confidence and immediate suspension of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Samuel Onuh for a period of three months after the motion was raised and seconded on the floor of the House on the following reasons of gross misconduct without any counter-motion.
“Refusal to bring the detailed income of ecological funds and its project proposal to the House after several requests.
“Refusal to present to the House the contract agreement of Ogbadibo IGR.
“Withholding July 2020 legislative grant of N1,000,000 (One Million naira only).
“Mismanagement of IGR proceeds by spending from the source without following the financial memorandum of the local government.

“Failure to present income and expenditure of the local government after several requests and invitations from the legislative House to Bureau for Local Government and chieftaincy affairs if they needed income and expenditure because they operated a JAAC account.”
Hon Onuh claimed that he was not informed yet.
Recall that Onuh had in 2020 led some thugs to attack Ameh Comrade Godwin, a Deputy Editor with DAILY POST.
