The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Information, Mu’azu Mannir Hiadara, in a press statement.

The affected cattle markets include Danjibga and Kunchin Kalgo in Tsafe Local Government Area, Bagega and Wuya cattle markets in Anka, Dangulbi and Dansadau in Maru, Dauran in Zurmi, and Nasarawar Burkullu in Bukkuyim Local Government Area.

The decision to temporarily close these markets was reached during the State Security Council Meeting, which took place at the Council Chamber Gusau, the state capital. The move comes as a response to the alarming activities of armed bandits who have been involved in the sale and transportation of stolen cattle.

“While this decision may cause inconvenience to some, it is a necessary step to address the security concerns in these areas,” stated the press release.
