The Everton striker, who has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, has hit back at supporters who were unhappy over his actions on holiday
Romelu Lukaku has hit back at fans who criticised him for playing football on a Chelsea-branded pitch whilst on holiday.
All the latest transfer rumours
The Everton striker, who has been heavily linked with a big-money move to Chelsea, is currently in Los Angeles where he is taking time out following the conclusion of the 2016-17 season.
That hasn’t stopped him playing football, though, with the Belgian having posted clips of him scoring goals while having a kick about with friends, including Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri.
One particular video irked supporters, however, with Lukaku showing off his skills on a pitch that has clear Chelsea branding on the advertising boards around the playing surface.
But having initially posted his annoyance at the backlash, the 24-year-old has gone one stage further and added a clip of him clarifying that he was about to once again play football on holiday, but on a pitch with no branding.
A future without Ronaldo and Messi
In the video, which you can see above, Lukaku says: “You see I’m here again, playing football in LA. No banners. So you are happy. Thank you very much. Have a good day.”
Everton could well be preparing for life without their star striker, however, with Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru having revealed that he is moving to Goodison Park.
