UNIBEN, Wellspring laud PUNCH on entrepreneurial devt

Alexander Okere, Benin

The management of the University of Benin and the Wellspring University, Edo State, have commended Punch Nigeria Limited for its efforts in promoting entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.

The universities made this known on Tuesday in Benin when they received four sets of books titled, Job Hunting and Career Success; Managing a Successful Small Scale Business; and Building Entrepreneurial Skills (volumes 1 and 2), presented by PNL to the schools.

The Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, noted that with the current state of the economy and demands of the 21st century, the need for students and graduates to embrace entrepreneurship could not be over-emphasised.

The VC, who was reacting to an exclusive story published by the company about a female student of the institution who was injured after she was allegedly stabbed by her colleague, said, “There was a story that your newspaper carried about two of our students. You gave the true story. I really have to commend your efforts. Thank you; I really appreciate it.”

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of Wellspring University, Prof. Obi Ikediugwu, explained that entrepreneurial education was one of the major objectives of the institution as it was a compulsory requirement for the students before graduation.
