President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Federal Executive Council meeting (FEC) to honor the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other officers.

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Federation (SGF), announced in a circular on Monday.

The President also directed that the scheduled Police Council meeting for Thursday be postponed.

The National Flag is to fly at half-mast nationwide from Monday to Wednesday.

Today, May 24, the government had declared it as the work-free day for members of the Armed Forces.

Mustapha quoted Buhari as urging all citizens to use the mourning period to pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and strength for their families.

Attahiru and others died Friday evening in an air crash near the Kaduna International Airport. They were buried on Saturday.
