In a recent interview on Arise Television’s programme, Daniel Bwala, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), voiced his concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s frequent diplomatic trips and urged him to shift his focus towards building Nigeria. Bwala argued that while the presidency has announced numerous investment deals secured by Tinubu, the lives of Nigerians have not experienced significant improvements in crucial sectors such as education, labor, and healthcare.

Bwala dismissed the recent announcements as mere “photo ops” and questioned the authenticity of the investments. He expressed skepticism, stating that there were no specific details, deliverables, or timelines provided for these purported investments. According to Bwala, the promises made by the presidency could only be substantiated by themselves, with no confirmation from any Indian investor regarding their commitment to such projects.

The PDP chieftain emphasized the need for President Tinubu to prioritize domestic policies, security, and national interest in order to truly develop the country. Bwala stressed that tangible improvements would only be possible if the President focused on addressing the challenges faced by Nigerian citizens, particularly in sectors crucial to their well-being.

Drawing attention to the education sector, Bwala highlighted the persistent challenges that continue to plague the system. He stressed the importance of investing in quality education, as it plays a vital role in shaping the future of the nation. Bwala urged President Tinubu to prioritize reforms that would ensure accessible and quality education for all Nigerians.

Similarly, Bwala pointed out the pressing issues within the healthcare sector that demand urgent attention. Despite the government’s claims of securing investments, Bwala argued that the healthcare system remains inadequate, leaving many Nigerians without access to proper medical care. He urged the President to prioritize healthcare reform and invest in infrastructure, equipment, and healthcare professionals to improve the overall quality of healthcare services across the country.

Furthermore, Bwala emphasized the importance of addressing labor challenges in Nigeria. He highlighted the high unemployment rate and the need for job creation opportunities. Bwala urged the President to prioritize policies that promote entrepreneurship, attract foreign investment, and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. By focusing on job creation, President Tinubu can empower Nigerian citizens and contribute to the overall growth of the economy.
