In a recent interview with Glamour, Dennings revealed that she had always wanted to start a garden but never had the time to do so. However, the pandemic provided her with the opportunity to finally pursue her passion. “I started a garden and I had been wanting to do that ever since I moved here. I never had the time, or I never made the time before. I built the garden boxes myself and planted them last spring. I know it sounds like not a big deal, but for me it was,” she shared.

For Dennings, gardening wasn’t just a way to pass the time – it became an essential form of self-care. “A nice thing to realize during this was that I wanted to feel better,” she explained. “Being sad is the worst. Obviously, this is a horrible, sad time, but I found myself wanting to feel better which, again, sounds like not a big deal, but it’s a good instinct to know that you have the want to improve your situation.”
The actress has been open about her mental health struggles in the past, and she credits gardening with helping her cope during a challenging period. “I think it’s important to find something that makes you feel good. I think that’s the key to getting through anything,” she added.
Dennings has also been sharing her gardening journey with her fans on social media. Her Instagram posts feature the fruits of her labor, including vibrant poppies, luscious strawberries, and a variety of homegrown vegetables.
