Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State Promises to Reward Loyalty in Appointment of Personal Aides

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has advised the people of the state not to be surprised if they see old faces in his new executive council. Speaking at his maiden Government House Covenant Service, Governor Eno said that his appointment of personal aides would be purely based on reward.

At the service, which had the theme “The God of New Beginnings,” the governor assured the people that he would be working with everyone else to set up a new agenda and that he would be bringing in a little tweak.

He said, “Don’t expect that kind of miracle that you don’t want to see old faces again it should be new faces, it won’t work like that. We need the wisdom of the old to navigate the new and so you’ll see a mixed grill of the new and the old.”

Governor Eno also stressed that he would be rewarding hard work, dedication, and selflessness while ensuring that he would not leave people who were with him through thick and thin for those who have CVs. He went further to explain that the appointment of Personal Assistants would come as a reward.

Reflecting on the mercies of God throughout the electioneering campaign, the Governor thanked God for keeping the state and appreciated the Fathers in faith for their prayers. He assured the people that God would lead the state to a great height as the theme of the service states, “the God of New Beginnings”.

In his homily, Primate Emmanuel Udofia of The African Church spoke on the theme, “The God of New Beginnings” culled his text from Gen. 1: 1, and Judges 16: 22-30. The cleric admonished that a man who connects with God would receive the grace that would sustain him throughout his endeavors.

The service was attended by the First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno; Deputy Governor, Dr Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; political stalwarts; religious leaders, friends and associates of Governor Umo Eno among other people.

It is indeed a new beginning in the state, and Governor Eno’s appointment of his executive council members and personal aides will be based on hard work, dedication, and selflessness. The appointment of Personal Assistants will come as a reward, and he will not leave people who were with him through thick and thin for those who have CVs.

As the governor of the state, Eno is looking forward to working with everyone else to set up a new agenda. He believes that the wisdom of the old is needed to navigate the new and is ready to bring in a mix of new and old faces to achieve this.

The governor’s maiden Government House Covenant Service had the theme “The God of New Beginnings.” It was an opportunity for the Governor to reflect on the mercies of God throughout the electioneering campaign, thank God for keeping the state, appreciate the Fathers in faith for their prayers, and assure the people that God would lead the state to a great height.

The service was attended by the First Lady, Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government, political stalwarts, religious leaders, friends, and associates of Governor Umo Eno. It was indeed a time of reflection, hope, and a new beginning for the state.
