Nigerian music sensation, Fireboy DML, has taken a step back from the spotlight in 2023, and he’s opened up about the reasons behind his relatively quiet year. The 25-year-old artist, known for his global hit “Peru” and a collaboration with Ed Sheeran, has been candid about the need for personal and artistic growth in a recent interview with Wat And Ers.

In the interview, Fireboy shared, “2023 has been a year of learning and growth for me as a person and as an artist. I’m just really grateful for the journey. When people say be grateful for the journey, I think this year has been that year for me.”

The singer emphasized the importance of taking a step back from the whirlwind of the music industry to focus on personal well-being. “Sometimes, it’s okay to step out from being an artiste and just realize that you’re human as well. With an actual life, with real problems just like everybody else. And this year has really taught me to appreciate all those things.”
